For this project the major skills that we had to have to make this project come together was patience and good researching skills because especially for the issue that my group was working on it was really hard to find a good website that had all of the info that we needed and information that we could trust.
To be honest I don't feel like I participated as much as all of my other group members because I missed the first day of work time so when I did get back to class I was very lost and didn't know what my role in the project would be, so I kinda just pitched into everyone's paragraph. So despite the fact that I didn't do my part and wasn't pulling the weight I feel like I took away a lot because I got a good understanding on what all my peers wrote and like not just focusing on one thing but instead learning of all of them.
The one thing that I did have trouble with was figuring out what my part to the project was going to be because when I started the project everybody already had their own part and when I asked what i should do there was already 4 parts to our paper and only four people in the group so i just ended up helping a little bit for each part.
As far as my group members went I loved all of them but garnet definitely seemed to take the lead and was actually kinda scary to work with because he was on top of everything and i feel like that is part of the reason I didn't understand what my part was.
The things that I learned in this project is that there is a lot of car and animal collisions in washington state, we tried to figure out why there was so many coalitions in this particular state and we figured out that it is a migratory area for lots of animals. We also tried to figure out ways to prevent it, and came up with putting up fencing, having more lights on the highway and animal funnels or bridges.
If I were to do this project again I would make sure that I know what my part is and try to contribute a lot more to my group.
My future.
I think it will help me have more passion and add to my attention to all wildlife.
First of all I would have loved to be here when we started so that i understood a little bit more of what was going on, but other than that I wish i had communicated a little bit more.
Pretty well because biology and anything that has to do with nature catches my attention which makes it more easy for me to understand and want to understand.
Communicating more with my group members and and make sure that I am doing all that need to do.
Movie project
The purpose for this project was to create a class movie and we had to choose a theme that we wanted to base the movie off of. For our movie, we decided to to represent or reenact the tv show the magic school bus. The main goal for this project was to make the movie and still be showing a clear scientific problem that was at stake. I think overall we did a great job but just didn’t have enough time to finish the movie so we had to show what we had.
I think overall I did a pretty good job staying on task during this project and trying to get all the props set up so that we could be ready to go and film our movie, another thing I feel like I did good at, was dressing up as a girl almost every day for almost two weeks. As a class we did a great job at not getting to frustrated or mad at eachother with all of the different ideas and thoughts that people had.
My main problems that I ran into during the process of making the film was memorizing my lines and trying to twitch my lines to be better and more natural instead of sounding so cliche. And other problems that we ran into during this project was trying to figure out what sort of props we would be using for our film, for example we built our school bus out of cardboard and after like half a week of working on the bus we finally decided to just throw it away and use an actual bus.
This was the main problem we had, trying to figure out what we would be using for what sense and trying to fit all of it in to our time span.
The only thing that I would have changed about this project was trying to figure out what we needed to have and all of the supplies ready to go and set so that we don’t have the same problems as we did this time with trying to figure out what we needed as the project was coming to an end.
